LMU Extension: Who Are We? • LMU Extension was founded in 1935 as the Evening Division of Loyola University offering degree and non-degree programs in downtown Los Angeles. LMU Extension today offers more than 554 online courses and 120 certificate programs, and receives over 12,000 enrollments annually. • Our Mission • As the continuing education unit of Loyola Marymount University, LMU Extension offers transformative learning opportunities that support the academic and professional goals of nontraditional students and lifelong learners.

Adding Programs to the ETPL • Many business sectors have developed industry-recognized certifications to ensure the workforce is equipped with adequate skills and specialized knowledge. • Certifications are often seen as the benchmark needed to enter into and advance in specific industries and compliment WIOA requirements.
Student Support Services • Virtual Career Center • Free and convenient online resources for job search, in-demand job statistics, and resume templates. • Employment Readiness Courses • All Advanced Career Training students receive access • to fundamental online courses that promote career • success, such as time management, resume writing, • and job search training. • 24/7 Access • ed2go.com/career/virtual-career-center
Student Support Services • Student Advisors • Every student in an Advanced Career Training program receives a dedicated advisor who understands the student’s goals and provides them with the tools and strategies needed for success. • Advisor-Student Interaction • Welcome: Advisors make a welcome phone call within one business day after enrollment. • Intervention: Advisors provide progress intervention for those students who are not progressing or accessing the program. Advisors will contact students to identify reasons why a student has not logged in or accessed • program materials and help them create a course completion plan. • If the student is not progressing, Advisors will contact them as needed: • • Intervention phone call if the student has been out of the course for 14 days • • Intervention emails if student has not accessed the course for one month • • Follow-up intervention email if student has not accessed course for two months • • Check-in emails every two months, four months, and 12 months (if applicable) • • Check-in email two months before course completion • 3. Response: Advisors respond to inquiries by phone or email within 24 hours, Monday-Friday.
