Male vs. Female Fetal pig (external anatomy) Umbilical Cord (may be cut) Urogenital Opening In the male fetal pig, a Urogenital opening is found directly underneath the umbilical cord. In a female pig this opening will be seen at the base of the tail near the anus. Basically if you see an opening under the umbilical cord you know it is a male. If it is not there then you have a female.
