Activity #1 • (1) Partner Up with a Shoulder Buddy • (2) Exchange group codes • (3) Return to www.edmodo.com • (4) This time….Click “I’m a Student” Click Here
Class Activity #1 Post a message to your partner. Let them know what an AMAZING educator they are!!! You can post a message to your entire class, your teacher or yourself. Click “Send”
Managing Student Accounts Student Access: This can be adjusted to “Read Only” to prevent student from making postings Change Password: Allows you to reset students password
Activity #2 • (1) Place yourselves in groups of (3) with your two Shoulder Buddies. • (2) Brainstorm some virtual classroom rules for students. Complete the Brainstorm Cloud on page #2 of your packet.
Activity #2 • (2) With your other shoulder buddy, come up with (5) virtual classroom rules

Session II: Communicating with Edmodo • Connecting with Educators • Communicating with Parents • Communicating with Students
Communicating with Parents Only Parents can join by using their parent code will be associated with your group. These parents can be emailed by clicking their name.
Feedback to Students Grade Students work immediately Provide immediate feedback to student on submitted assignments
Activity #3 • (1) Your packet contains the instructions for connecting with educators from all over the world. • (2) Reflect on the possibilities to connect with other educators from all over the world.
Activity #4 • (1) Partner with your shoulder Buddy • (2) Complete the steps in your packet to respond to their posting.

Session III: Creating Content • Postings • Assignments • Quizzes • Polls
Activity # 5 During Activity #1, you created a posting as student. Follow the instructions on p. 5 of your instruction manual and reply to the posting as a teacher.
Creating Content: Assignments Selecting Assignment will cause the textboxes for “title, description and due date to appear. Use this textbox to provide students with directions or actual questions to answer Enter the date that you desire the assignment to be submitted
Creating Content: Quiz Select from Different question types. Type question here Multiple choice questions allow for multiple responses
Creating Content: Polls Polls allow for quick checks for understanding. They are also anonymous.
Creating Content: Polls (Results) Results display percentage of students who selected each response.
Activity #6 • Directions: Create an assignment entitled “Warm Up.” Then, create a (4) question quiz with each type of question (multiple choice, short answer, true false and fill in the blank). Finally Create a Poll with at least (4) response options. Use the Activity #6 self assessment rubric to evaluate your content.

Session IV: Uploading Content • Videos • Presentations • Files • Links
Uploading Content: Videos, Presentation and Files First, click file. Videos, presentations or document files are upload the same. Choose the file you would like to upload.
Uploading Content: Links After selecting Link, copy the link in the designated textbox.
Activity #7 • Directions: During our last professional development, we created videos using voice thread. Create an assignment in Edmodo. Include a link to the video you created during our last professional development. In that same assignment upload a document file and a presentation.

Session V: Develop a Lesson • Develop a lesson to cover one class period
Activity #8 • Direction: Create a (50) minute lesson on Edmodo. Incorporate all elements of a standard lesson plan. Include All features discussed during today’s professional development.
