  16. 802.11g “54g+” Speed BoostHow we do it . . . • The U.S. Robotics 5420 and 5430 use a technique called “Framebursting” • Framebursting aggregates data frames into larger frames, up to 1500 bytes, for increased efficiency • Speed improvements of up to 25% result in 802.11g environments and up to 75% in mixed environments (g & b products)

  17. 802.11g “Turbo” Speed BoostHow we do it . . . • The U.S. Robotics Turbo products uses packet aggregation. • Packets are combined into data frames of 4000 bytes, for increased efficiency and speed. • Speed improvements of up 100Mbps performance results in homogenous environments. • In mixed environments there is little reduction in speed. In fact all products (802.11b/802.11b+ and standard 802.11g) connect at their highest possible speed.
