The Model Prayer – Matthew 6:8-13 Section 1 – INTIMATE PRAISE AND WORSHIP –”Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name.” • ACKNOWLEDGE God as Father • Offer God THANKSGIVING • Offer ADORATION and REVERENCE Section 2 – PRAYING GOD’S WILL – “Your kingdom come Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” • Partner with God • Be the “voice” of God • Say God’s Word Section 3 – PRAY FOR YOUR NEEDS – “Give us this day our daily bread.” • Be specific about your request Section 4 – PRAYING FOR FORGIVENESS – “And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.” • Be SPECIFIC about the SINS that relate to the PRAYER TOPIC. • Be SPECIFIC about the PEOPLE you need to forgive. • ASK for forgiveness from PEOPLE you have offended. • Forgive YOURSELF.

The Model Prayer - Matthew 6:8-13 Section 5 – PRAYING FOR PROTECTION – “And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” • “Help us not to yield to temptation, but deliver us form the evil one.” ***Stick with this language. It is God’s word and it will take care of demonic activity. Section 6 – KINGDOM PRAISE AND WORSHIP – “For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.” 1. Take out I, ME, and My when you praise Him. This section is exclusively for God. 2. Praise the SOVEREIGNTY and AWESOMENESS of God.
