Aims • Developing a methodology for modelling in water management according to WFD by developing: • Knowledge Base (KB): guidance on how to model for water management • Modelling Support Tool (MoST) presenter - workshop / course - HarmoniQuA intro
Project characteristics • Period 1-1-2002 – 31-12-2005 (4 years) • 2.57 million Euro (1.65 million Euro financed by EC) • 12 partners in 10 countries with expertise in 7 domains of model based water management • WWW.HarmoniQuA.org presenter - workshop / course - HarmoniQuA intro

Knowledge Base • Includes knowledge on • Modelling and how to do it • Modelling in teams • Multidisciplinary (i.e. domains) projects • Water management • Guidelines dedicated to: • User types (water manager, modeller, auditor, stakeholder, public) • Domains (groundwater, precipitation-runoff, hydrodynamics, flood forecasting, surface water quality, biota and socio-economics); • Job complexity (basic, intermediate, comprehensive) • Implemented in an ontology (e.g. smart database) • Provided to users by MoST presenter - workshop / course - HarmoniQuA intro
HarmoniQuA Modelling Support Tool (MoST) • Provides guidance from the KB to users • Can set-up and organise multidisciplinary modelling projects • Monitors the work of all persons involved in a modelling project • Reports to specific audiences • Provides advice based on experience from previous projects presenter - workshop / course - HarmoniQuA intro
