eSubmissions • Direct interface into Grants.gov for all specified mechanisms during 2006 • Targeted implementation of InfoEd proposal tracking & submission by Dec 01, 2006 • eSNAP has been enabled
Getting Started • Make sure you and your key personnel are registered in eRA Commons (does not include reviewer registrations) • Download PureEdge software from Grants.gov site • You do not need to register in Grants.gov • Remember, the deadline for submission is 5:00 local time
Grants.gov Process • Download program announcement and instructions from Grants.gov • No more unsolicited proposals • Each announcement provides specific instructions related to forms and information for that PA • All work is done outside of Grants.gov • Be sure to save file to your computer / network drive
Grants.gov Submission process (and suggested timeline) • Begin routing near final / final budget for approvals at least 5 working days prior to submission deadline • Email attachment or paper • Routing form is still paper • Plan to route final proposal to OSP at least 3 working days prior to submission deadline
OSP Process • Verify completeness of proposal as per PA • Validate for Grants.gov errors • Upload into Grants.gov • Track proposal into eRA Commons • Errors vs. warnings • Validation period
MacIntosh Users • Office of Sponsored Programs has purchased a Mac • User support • Training • Testing • Cytrex solution
Grants.gov Training • Workshops • Scheduled for May 3 (9 – 11, 4.302 RSH) and May 5 (3 – 5, 4.302 RSH) • Can schedule additional for June and later deadlines • Staff is prepared to provide one-on-one assistance • Available to provide department training for admin support • InfoEd training will be rolled out late summer
Other assistance • Have developed sample forms • Have developed “tips” sheet • Available work station • Available to come to you • Research Services has established an “Electronic Submissions” quick link on its website with helpful information (http://research.utmb.edu/eSubmit.asp)
InfoEd • Is UTMB’s longterm esubmission solution • Will bypass upload process into grants.gov • Goal is to be ready to pilot late summer • Be fully implemented by December 01, 2006 • More information will be forthcoming
eSNAP • Is available for use • Not mandatory • Training will be developed and rolled out in the near future
Items to remember • Deadline is a 5:00 upload into Grants.gov • % effort has been replaced with man-months • Non-modular budgets require a detailed budget for each year • Every proposal must have an affiliated program announcement
