Reaction plane r.p. Df parton hadrons parton A+A collision p+p collision r.p. for a geometrical origin suffer r.p. resolution (smeared shape) dN/d(-) = N(1 + S 2vn’cos(n(-))) no smearing (detailed shape analysis) event anisotropy shape (no relation to r.p.) Nreal (Df)/Nmixed(Df) = N(1 + S 2vn2cos(n(D))) ShinIchi Esumi, Univ. of Tsukuba
reaction plane based analysis v2 (r.p. |h|=3~4) pair wise correlation analysis min. bias Au+Au at sqrt(sNN)=200GeV PHENIX PHENIX Preliminary qm02 pT (GeV/c) ShinIchi Esumi, Univ. of Tsukuba
pQCD spectrum shifted by 2.2 GeV Teff = 350 MeV blue-shifted temperature Models (hydro+recombination+jets) ShinIchi Esumi, Univ. of Tsukuba
simulation reduced correlation because of v2*v2, but smaller error bar because of a large pair combination f track- F true -> v2 f track- F measured -> v2*resolution f track1 - f track2 -> v2*v2 ShinIchi Esumi, Univ. of Tsukuba

simulation v2hydro+v2jets No r (90deg) like decay effect No r (90deg) like decay effect + reduced v2 reaction plane based analysis pair wise correlation analysis ShinIchi Esumi, Univ. of Tsukuba
r.p. flow+jets in-plane pair in between flow only (wrong!) flow + flow&jets cross term out-of-plane pair V2jet=0 : reduce v2 just as BG V2jet>0 : almost no change or increase in v2 jets only f track1 - f track2 |f track1 - f track2| ShinIchi Esumi, Univ. of Tsukuba
out-of-plane in-plane average simulation 0<pT1<1GeV/c 1<pT1<2GeV/c 2<pT1<3GeV/c 3<pT1<6GeV/c hydro flow, flowing jets, r like decay f track1 - f track2 flow like (1+cos) component subtracted, fitted 2 Gaussians (back-to-back jets) term ShinIchi Esumi, Univ. of Tsukuba
0<pT1<1GeV/c 1<pT1<2GeV/c 2<pT1<3GeV/c 3<pT1<6GeV/c simulation No flowing jets No flowing jets, reduced jets yield No r like decay No r like decay, reduced v2 ShinIchi Esumi, Univ. of Tsukuba
Summary 1) Non-flow effect is not always additive. 2) Quenched jets and daughter hadrons would make finite v2 at high pT. 3) Is v2 saturation/reduction caused by quenched jets or by quark flow? -> quark number scaled v2 of identified hadrons ShinIchi Esumi, Univ. of Tsukuba
