  2. To answer this question split it into four parts. Urban Changes in Glasgow’s CBD Part 1: Retail (Same as previous) Some shops have closed (particularly on Argyll Street) or relocated to outer city malls and retail parks such as Braehead and Glasgow Fort [1].

The Merchant City has been restored including the City Halls and the Old Fruitmarket area [2]. Strathclyde and Caledonian Universities have also built modern new buildings in the area [1].
