  2. WP 8 2nd Meeting (21 January 2004, NPL ) Main points discussed : • Costs and Payments • Overview of data template • Last version of WP8 template • Suggestions for improvement • Procedure for filling the template • Form and content of the database (WP8 report) • Evitherm plan (WP8 part)

  3. Costs and Payments • After receiving the official copy of the Amendment of the contract, the LNE Financial Service has carried out on 8th January 2004, the transfer of advance payments for the 4 members “officially” linked with LNE • Questions asked by LNE Financial services • Why this amendment is not signed by each contracting party like the contract ? (contract article 7) • Why does LNE not received any money for management fees it pays for the transfer of advance to members?(Dow WP1) > Clarification from SG/EC is requested.

  4. Overview of Data Template

  5. Standard template

  6. Suggestions for improvement : remarks • R1) To include in the templates new suitable sheets for Contact thermometry as sheets (Devices), (Temperature standards) and (Links). • R2) To include "NPL" sheet (health&safety) into a more general sheet as WP8 sheet named (Industry Sectors) with key words for sectors • R3) To merge NPL sheet (Conference) into (Events). • R4) To merge NPL sheet (Suppliers) into sheet (Manufacturers); some are both suppliers and manufacturers,. • R5) To include in the same sheet named (Papers & Others) the following NPL sheets:(paper), (technical notes), (technical reports). • R6) To add new columns in the sheet NPL (Legal) as Title, publisher, identifier • R7) To include sheet NPL (Units) into sheets "Standard" or "Terminology",

  7. Suggestions for improvement : questions • Q1) In which sheet must we include the documents issued from accreditation organization as EA, UKAS, COFRAC? • Q2) In the NPL sheet (research), what type of information is needed? We can note that If we speak about research organizations, we can refer to sheet "Association"; If we refer to research project, we can look at sheet "project"... • Q3) Is it necessary to differentiate papers, technical notes, technical reports in separate sheets.

  8. Procedure for filling the template • How to merge in a single template all progress contributions ? • Sources of information -Extract from the Evitherm Data Policy: “Data sources are not restricted to Europe. For all data the source will always be attributed.” -All WP8 members agreed during the last meeting to begin to search information at first in Europe and after anywhere in the world

  9. Procedure for filling the template • What level of detail? - Extract from the Evitherm Data Policy : “the website must be able to provide information easily and promptly” - We must privilege direct information rather information via links? e.g.: regarding accredited laboratories: Is it better for the user, to link direct to the UKAS website rather than to look at the Evitherm list of all laboratories? • How often to update the collected data in the template? Daily review !!
