Assigned debit day can either be in a 48 or during the 5 day break.
10. Kelly Days vs. Debit Days Currently we have 13.5 Kelly days per year.
365 / 27 day cycle = 13.5 year
365 days a year / 3 shifts = 121.66
121.66 – 13.5 k-days = 108.16 days worked
108.16 x 24 hours = 2595.99 hours
2595.99 / 52.14 weeks = 49.78 hrs per week

B/C’s have all floating debit days

91.25 + 16.4 debits = 107.65 days worked
107.65 x 24 hours = 2583.6 hours
2583.6 / 52.14 weeks = 49.55 hrs per week
13. Why Switch to 4 Platoon? The two biggest reasons given by FF’s, Lt’s, B/C’s and the A/C was increase in crew continuity and improved training time.
Minimum staffing levels stay the same.
On the 4 Platoon Hybrid members can choose to work 48’s or not.
14. Why Switch to 4 Platoon? Potential for promotions…
Currently our primary actors are in the officer role between 60 and 70% of the time. We could switch to 4 platoons without promotions, but our actors would still be in the officer role 60 – 70% of the time.
If the Administration chose to promote, acting time would decrease significantly.
15. Why Switch to 4 Platoon? Similar sleep benefits to the 48/96.
Increase in rest periods between tours.
Reduction in sick leave usage.
16. What if there are 2 Lt’s? What if a Lt. is working a debit day and there is no Lt. vacancies?

B/C driver if staffing allows
May need to create language in the contract allowing officer to work outside their classification when this particular scenario happens.
