Background on Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO) Vision 100: The Century of Aviation Reauthorization Act • Tasked the Secretary of Transportation to establish the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NGATS) Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO) within FAA • Tasked as cooperative effort across DOT, DoD, NASA, Commerce, DHS, and the White House Office of Science and Technology • The law required JPDO to submit to Congress a proposed NGATS plan in December 2004 2005 Europe/US International Aviation Safety Conference, Cologne 7-9 June
