Blitz The blitz is the event when the German air raided Britain, from 1940 to1941. It is estimated that about 40,000 civilians were killed, 46,000 injured, and more than a million homes destroyed and damaged, together with an immense amount of damage caused to industrial installations. Blitz refers to the German bombing on British cities during World War Two. Blitz is called Blitz because it means a sudden, destructive and overwhelming attack. Blitz was a virtual institution that killed and frightened people and it made life much more than difficult.
Blitz The Blitz ended in 10th May 1941 and had begun on 7th September 1940. It was the strategic bombing of Britain by the Nazi Germany during the Second World War. London was bombed for 76 consecutive nights by the Luftwaffe destroying more than one million houses in houses and killing more than 40,000 civilians.
