Summer Reading Project Due Thursday, September 1 ~ Choose ONE of the following projects that will work best with the book you read this summer. ~ The Summer Reading project is to be completed at home. • Option 1 – A Children’s Book • Chapter book suitable for a • 1st grader retelling your • book simply and cleverly • Must have: • Colored Cover and • illustrated pages • Correctly spelled and • punctuated story • Inside cover and back • cover for any • other details • Option 2– Awards • Poster with 3 original • awards or trophies • for 3 important • characters in your • book (main character • and 2 others) • 3 paragraphs (1 per • character detailing • why/how they won • this award • Option 3 – Collage • Poster with the book’s • title in the middle • 50+ words, phrases, • sentences cleverly glued • to the poster correlating • with your book • 3 pictures to correlate • with your book • Poster completely • covered by words and • pictures
