Proformação’s Design • Two years programme • 3,200 hours (2 years) of learning in the workplace and states training agencies • National Coordination Staff: 35 people • Four Modules • 800 hours each (one semester) • Self-study and group activities • Continuous support to remote learners • 3,000 tutors in 220 states training agencies

Proformação’s Design • Self-instructional Activities • Printed Materials: Modules Study Guides and workbooks • Writing of Trainee Experience Report • Group Activities • Face-to-face phase: workshops • Bi-weekly meetings among trainees and tutors • Learning Support System • Tutorial assistance • Help Desk (Collect call)

  6. Face-to-face workshops 76 hours at the beginning of each of the four course modules

  7. Bi-weekly meetings • Discussion of course activities • Supervision • Video presentation and discussion • Clarification of doubts

  8. Learning Support System - Network of Tutors : visits to the trainee´s school • - Communication services: • Most tutorials by phone (collect calls)

External Evaluation • Scope and social relevance • Positive changes in trainees’ classroom practice: new ways of teaching contents; use of reachable teaching materials; more autonomy from the textbook; taking into consideration student’s experiences; making classes more interactive to students; concerning about student’s learning and repetition. • Increase in teacher trainees´ self-esteem • More participation of trainees at school and into the community
