2. Definition • -When you want to tell someone what not to do • Ie: Don’t call after 10 pm.

3. Formation • 1. yo form present tense: llamo • 2. remove the “o”: llam • 3. add the opposite present tense tú ending (-ar +es & -er/ir +as): llames • 4. no llames • Ie: Don’t call me after 10 pm: • No me llamesdespués de lasdiez de la noche

4. comer • Ie: Don’t eat too much chocolate. • 1. como • 2.com • 3. comas • 4. No comas demasiado chocolate.

5. subir • Ie: Don’t get on that bus. • 1. subo • 2. sub • 3. subas • 4. No subaseseautobús.

6. DOPs/Reflexive Pronouns etc. & Negative tú Commands • Place DOPs before the negative command (after the “no”) • Ie: Don’t call me after 10 pm: • No mellamesdespués de lasdiez de la noche • Ie: Don’t eat chocolate. • No lo comas. • Ie: Don’t brush your teeth w/ the dogs toothbrush. • No tecepilles los dientes con el cepillo del perro.
