  3. Motion takes place over time and depends upon the frame of reference • Example: Two cars on the road.

  4. Displacement • Displacement is a change in position.

  5. Displacement is not always equal to the distance traveled

  6. Displacement can be positive or negative

  7. Velocity • Average velocity is displacement divided by the time interval

  8. Velocity is not the same as speed

  9. Velocity can be interpreted graphically

  10. Instantaneous velocity may not be the same as average velocity
