About you Myself Dr. Kiran S. Kakade working as Assistant Professor and ERP Consultant at Thakur Institute of Management Studies (TIMSR) , Mumbai. Replace Header with your Name TOPIC :(Human Resource Information System (HRIS)) COURSE: PGDM, MHRDM DOMAIN: Management PGDM-II Sem Students MHRDM-IV Sem Students AFFILIATION : Mumbai University
Out-of-class Activity Design-1 Learning Objective(s) of Out-of-Class Activity At the end of watching the videos student will be able to Understand the interface of technology and HR functions. Key Concept(s) to be covered Evolution of Human resource Management and Human Resource Information System
Out-of-class Activity Design-2 Main Video Source URL: Video1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ncY6qKRQZM Video2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N780yW1SbUQ License of Video: Creative Commons Attribution licence (reuse allowed) Total Duration: 08.50 min
Out-of-class Activity Design - 3 Aligning Assessment with Learning Objective Expected activity duration : 10 min Provide expected duration of activity here** ** It is recommended that total duration of activity and video should not be greater than one lecture duration.
In-class Activity Design -1 Learning Objective(s) of In-Class Activity At the end of the class, students will be able to, Identify the best practices of HRIS implementation as per organization need • Key Concept(s) to be covered • The System Development Life Cycle (Unified vs Best of Bread Approach)
In-class Activity Design -2 Active Learning activity(ies) that you plan to do Real world problem solving using. Think-Pair-Share Concept clarification using. Peer Instruction
In-class Activity Design -2 Peer Instruction Strategy – What Teacher Does Teacher will Pose the two PI questions at the start of the class and provide summary of basic identities and expression simplification. Q 1: What will be the strategy for HRIS implementation ? Unified Platform Best of Bread
In-class Activity Design -2 Peer Instruction Strategy – What Student Does For the above question all students will first vote individually. Then student will discuss both the strategy of HRIS implementation with peers and come to consensus. Listen to instructors explanation for the HRIS implementation strategy .
In-class Activity Design -2 TPS Strategy – What Instructor does First provide a premise Exhibit some model of HRIS implementation with examples ( Best of Bread vsUnified ) in the class
In-class Activity Design -2 TPS Strategy – What Instructor does Think ( 2 minutes) Instruction: Assuming the two approach of the HRIS implementation , think individually and identify the scenario in which one of the strategy will feasible for organization.
In-class Activity Design -2 TPS Strategy – What Instructor does Pair ( 5 minutes) Instruction: Now pair up the student and compare with their answers. And try to agree on one final answer. While students are pairing and discussing, instructor goes to 2~3 sections to see what they are doing.
In-class Activity Design -2 TPS Strategy – What Instructor does Share ( 8 minutes) Instructor asks a group to share their answer with class and see whether there are different answers. After sharing is done, instructor gives feedback on the correct solution and how HRIS implementation approaches play a major role in successful implementation of HRIS within organization In the next iteration of TPS, in the Think Phase we ask students to Analyze a firms HRIS system, evaluate its strengths and weakness, and propose changes to improve it.
In-class Activity Design -2 Justify why the above is an active learning strategy In both the above strategies, students are required to go beyond mere listening and execution of prescribed steps. They are required to think deeply about the content they were familiarized in out-of-class and do higher order thinking.= • In out classroom Activity student are understand the evolution of the HRM and HRIS • In Classroom Activity • With Peer Instruction Strategy we conducted the active discussion through voting . • And with Think-Pair-Share Strategy we find the conclusive remark as which approach is best for HRIS implementation. There is also feedback provided (either through peer discussion or instructor summary)
