Economics at NSF • We continue to be the largest SBE program, but our funding is growing more slowly than the overall SBE budget. • Last Year: 368 submissions, 36% funded. • High Success Rate due to an additional $4 million in ARRA funds. • ARRA funds exhausted • Fall 2009: 30% increase in proposals.
New Small Grant Mechanisms • Grants for Rapid Response Research (RAPID) • Severe urgency with regard to availability of or access to data and facilities. • Max of $200k/1 year. • Early-concept Grants for Exploratory Research (EAGER) • Exploratory work on untested but potentially transformative ideas or approaches. • Max of $300k/2 years. • Must contact Program Officer before submission.
