BHASVIC What Could be Studied at BHASVIC? • You will need to fill 4 blocks • Two blocks must be at level 3 • Two Blocks must be at level 1 or 2 • In exceptional circumstances you can fill three blocks at level 3 and have one block at level 1 or 2, but would need to discuss this at interview.
Blocks • AS (level 3) = one block • BTec/OCR level 3 = two blocks • BTec/OCR level 2 = two blocks • Sports Science (level 3) = two blocks • GCSEs (level 2) = one block
Timetable Examples • Miah is studying AS English, AS Psychology, GCSE Humanities and Spanish NVQ • Glen is studying an OCR National Award level 3 in ICT, English GCSE and Science GCSE • Michelle is studying AS Communication Studies, AS Business Studies and ICT level 2 • Harry is studying Business level 3 and ICT level 2
Grade Criteria What grades do I need to achieve to Return? • BTec or OCR Qualifications – Merit • Sport, ICT, Business, H&S Care • GCSE Courses – Grade C • All other courses studied, including Key Skills, IOLP, Sports Dev, Functional Skills, - Pass
Criteria to return What about my general progress? • Good teacher and tutor references • Meet the College expectations for attendance and punctuality • Complete ALL courses started • Satisfactory resolution of any Action Plans
BHASVIC Apply Applications for BHASVIC? • Progression starts in November • Applications Deadline - Thursday 11th February • Interviews – Wednesday 24th March • Conditional Offers given after the interview • Grades and final attendance looked at • Final offer confirmed made or withdrawn
Keeping Track How will I know what is happening? • Watch your Subject Reviews in November & March • Communicate with teachers • Use your tutor for advice • Think about your progress daily • Remember what you can achieve when you put your mind to it.
