MISSION • Establish an overarching framework to coordinate all education-related services to youth and families • School Liaison Services provides/facilitates smoother school transitions and educational support services Army-wide. The School Liaison Officer (SLO) informs and assists military families with school transition issues prior to arrival, upon arrival, while stationed at installation and when preparing to depart. The SLO works to build partnerships between the military community, the civilian community and the local schools to promote educational success.

SCHOOL LIAISON SERVICES • Provides information on educational services • Connects families with local, national, and worldwide subject matter experts in youth education and school transition issues • Educates parents to become advocates for their children • Serves as a mediator for school-related issues • Provides liaison between families, schools, and installation commanders

  5. PARTNERSHIPS IN EDUCATION (P.I.E) • Local DoDDS • Community • CYSS/ homework labs, technology centers • Other schools and installations world-wide • Boys and Girls Club of America • 4-H “SLOs work hand- in- hand with organizations to enhance the educational opportunities and academic success of our military youth”
