Workgroup on short set • Consider additional revisions to short set • Address clause for vision and hearing questions • Revise communication question • Revise introduction to question set which will be influenced by changes to communication question • Develop alternative (optional) question on upper body function • Address issue of using short set as a screener (subgroup work)
Workgroup on data analysis • Continue analysis of pre-test data • Additional analysis with WHO/ESCAP to identify discrepancies and commonalities • Evaluate issues with data from Viet Nam (disparities between responses to questions on vision, hearing, and self-care for respondents reporting “unable”) • Evaluate proxy data • Evaluate responses for children • Additional analyses with field test data
Workgroup on data analysis • Evaluate how questions work relative to socio-economic and demographic factors • Decide on cut-off age for administering questions (at what age do questions apply) • Look across domains in which respondents reporting difficulties in order to get a better understanding of problematic response patterns (especially for self care) • Investigate profiles of subgroups defined by functioning status • Evaluate subpopulations we might be missing using data from Zambia
Joint work: workgroups on short set and analysis • Publication of test results • Description of process • Results of testing • Strengths and limitations of data set • Comparisons to other work • Examples of country experiences • Identify issues for further research
Workgroup on extended set/s • Self-organize group • Canada and Bermuda volunteered to be on workgroup • Determine if subgroups need to be formed • Write position paper specific to developing extended set • Purpose: equalization of opportunities • Plan and approach • Add to and extend questions on existing domains • Review and select existing questions • Test question set if time allows
Workgroup on methodological issues • Continue work on methodological issues?
Plan for UN Commission Report • Brief history of WG • Activities during last year • WG endorses short set although there may be modifications • Describe collaborations with DPOs and international organizations • Refer to UN Convention and Principles of Official Statistics documents • Seek approval of WG work plan • Provide technical assistance to countries if funding available • Continue analysis of data • Development of extended sets
Additional recommendations • Prepare usual executive summary of this meeting • Develop 4-page summary of pre-test results to inform governmental agencies • Develop more general document describing how to use and interpret the data • Address issue of special populations (children, etc.)
