SOUTH EASTERN EUROPE MINE ACTION COORDINATION COUNCIL (SEEMACC) • Established 30 November 2001 • Functions: • Exchange the experience, expertise and knowledge in the field of mine action in the region • Promote the regional approach in the planning of demining programs • Promote the regional approach in the fund raising in the region • Exchange experience, expertise and knowledge in the field of training of deminers and managing personnel in Mine Action • Exchange information on testing of new technologies in demining • Promote the achievement of common standards and accreditation procedures in the field of demining in the region
SEEMACC • Members of the SEEMACC: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, Croatiaand ITF. Azerbaijan also joined. • Results: • Reciprocal accreditation recognition for mechanical demining equipment between Bosnia and Herzegovina on one side and Croatia on the other. • www.see-demining.org - SEEMACC web site was established • Regional Center for Underwater Demining in Montenegro was established and the idea of establishment the school for Mine Detection Dogs was supported • SEEMACC newsletter • Next meeting in Ig, Slovenia (10 June 2003)
