  2. Introduction: What is a Cell Phone? Also known as Mobile phone or Wireless Phone. Can be carried from place to place. Makes it easier for people to get in touch with each other.

  3. The History of Cell Phones • Pagers • The first cellular phone was named DynaTAC8000x. • Created by Martin Cooper in 1984. • Manufactured by Motorola Inc. • It took about $100 million and a decade to develop.

  4. The First Cell Phone (Cont.) • Weighed 2 pounds • Could store only 30 phone numbers • Battery needed to be charged for 10 hours • 30 minutes talk time Costs $3995!!

  5. Cell Phones Today Today, cell phones offer many new features including: • Web browsing • Email • Instant messaging • Camera • Entertainment • Other multimedia services

  11. CONS The number of cell phone users has increased every day over the last couple of years and there are currently over 5 billion people using mobile services. While cell phones are helpful, they are dramatically impacting younger generations.
