Lessons learned • The facilitators have to be involved and participate in the preparation of the local government meetings concerning the participatory budgeting process • This would motivate the facilitator and inform the facilitator on the different disicions and policies that are to be followed during the course of the process.
Lessons learned • Meetings have to be held in appropriate environment. • Local government should pay much attention to providing adequate conditions for the participants to participate in the meeting. • provide the necessary means and support for the facilitator to facilitate the meeting.
Lessons learned (challenges) • Avoid the shifting of the discussions to personal matters and irrelevant issues. • In the poor communes the facilitators have to be supported by the commune in order to carry out their mission (transportation expenditures)
