‘LEONARDO and Enterprise’ The Leonardo da Vinci programme is part of the European Commission’s new Lifelong Learning programme and is designed to build a skilled workforce through European partnerships. Leonardo mobility funds overseas work placements and language courses with the objective of improving the provision of Vocational Education and Training In Europe

The Application Process • Publicity & marketing, applications invited • Information session & interviews (ECTARC) • Application forms and CVs sent to partner organisations abroad • Successful candidates sign contract • Induction week (ECTARC) • 3 or 4-week language course abroad • 9 or 10-week work placement
BENEFICIARIES • Living/studying/working in Wales • 18 and over • EU citizens and the EFTA countries participating in the European Economic Area (EEA) and accession countries Bulgaria, Romania & Turkey • Good, basic language skills (except for Estonia)

WHAT THE BENEFICIARIES THINK • ‘A very refreshing experience for someone further on in their career and considering options for the future.’ • ‘I have gained some ‘real-life’ experience of laboratory work which will enhance my CV. Financial Support • Induction week: – funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, 25 hours language and cultural preparation, team building, accommodation and meals, in Llangollen, North Wales. • The EU Leonardo da Vinci programme 2funds: • Airport Transfers – Manchester or Liverpool • Return flight and travel insurance • Language course 3 or 4 weeks • Accommodation in host families or self catering • Unpaid work placement 9 or 10 weeks • Participants need to provide own POCKET MONEY
