Limited Government Limited government is like a movie production where the government is the actors and the people are the producers, writers, and director. As the government must only do the things which the people tell it to do, so must the actors obey their superiors. Both, however, are accredited with making either the system or the movie work. Also, the government and the actors both must follow the guidelines or they will be impeached/fired.
Judicial Review Judicial Review is like student-driving. The Supreme Court is like the driving instructor and the government is like the student driver. As the student drivers drives as best as he or she can, so too does the government pass laws which they find to be good for the public. Also, like the driving instructor can put on the alternate brake, the Supreme Court can declare any law as unconstitutional and nullify it.
Federalism Federalism is like a set of balanced scales. Just like the national government cannot take away rights from the state governments without tipping the power too much in their favor, the set of scales would become imbalanced by taking away weight from one side . They both have to split power in order to establish a balanced country.
Separation of Powers Separation of Powers is like a cookie cutter because it takes the whole, a giant slab of cookie dough, and separates it into multiple cookies each with equal taste capabilities.
