Crowther Chronicles November I What we are learning: - In reading students are learning about non-fiction text features. The text features include; heading, key words, table of contents, diagram, caption, glossary, index, chart, timeline, map, diagram and bullet points. Students are learning what each text feature is as well as how to find the text feature and how it helps you while reading the text. - In writing students are continuing to learn about sentence structure and what is in a complete sentence. Students are practicing writing complete sentences to create writings about bats. - In math students are learning more about money. Including learning how to make change. Students will begin to learn about fractions and how to divide parts into regions and making fractional figures. - In sciences students will be learning about sound. Learning how sound is produced, how the human ear detects sound, how sounds travels, what sound waves are and much more. • Upcoming Events: • Wednesday, November 6th is picture day! • Friday, November 8th reports go home. • Monday, November 11th is Veterans Day and the is no school. • Thursday, November 14th is our next ImagiOn trip. • November 27th- 29th there is no school for Thanksgiving. • Important Reminders: • As a class we go to the MRSA every Wednesday. Books are due two weeks after they are checked out. • ImagiOin library books are due three weeks after they are checked out. We only go to ImagiOn once a month so please make sure you are returning those books to any Charlotte- Mecklenburg library so your child does not get a fine.
