  4. David’s trust in God • In difficult times: waiting for God to give him the kingdom (1 Chron 11 & 12) • When he sinned (1 Chron 21:13)

  5. Learning about God • God does forgive, even if He doesn’t remove the consequences of sin (2 Kings 24:3-4, 2 Chron 33:10-13) • God has a hand in the rise and fall of peoples, even without miracles (1 Chron 10:11)

  6. Learning about God • God rewards a heart that seeks Him even if He says no to a specific request (1 Chron 17:3-15)

  7. Applications • Actions have consequences, even after our death (2 Kings 24:3-4) • Don’t trust in physical power or even in spiritual things (2 Kings 25:9, Luke 21:5-6) • God never leaves us without hope (2 Kings 25:27-30)

  8. Applications • Do good and others will notice (1 Chron 12:22) • Take responsibility for your actions, recognizing when they hurt others (1 Chron 21:17)

  9. Applications • It’s good to assist someone else even if we can’t do something ourselves (22:5) • It’s vital to prepare those who come after us to seek the Lord (22:11-19)
