PERSUASION TERMS ARGUMENT *a discussion involving differing points of view; debate: They were deeply involved in an argument about inflation. *a process of reasoning; series of reasons: I couldn't follow his argument. *a statement, reason, or fact for or against a point:This is a strong argument in favor of her theory. *an address or composition intended to convince or persuade; persuasive discourse.

  2. PROPOSITION *the act of offering or suggesting something to be considered, accepted, adopted, or done. -We cannot believe a proposition which we know to be untrue. -Come up with a unique selling proposition that persuades people to take action.

  3. TESTIMONIAL *A persuasive technique in which the words of an expert or famous person are used to persuade you: to think a certain way, or to do or buy something.

  4. BANDWAGON *A persuasive technique that encourages people to act because the majority is doing it. A popular trend that attracts growing support.

  5. IMPACT *To have an impact or effect on; influence; alter The decision may impact your whole career. The auto industry will be impacted by the new labor agreements.
