What is it? • An Insight Reflector is designed to promote open reflection and encourage creative thinking. It is especially appropriate for English, Social Studies, and Ethical approaches to Science and Technology classes.
Why should we use it? • It promotes creative thinking. • Facilitates personal reflection. • Helps students view material with a different perspective. • Engages students’ emotions, as well as their minds. • Can be used for reflective writing.
Example… • What's the meaning of life? Why is beauty in the eye of the beholder? Is meat murder? These are the kinds of questions that ask people to look beneath the surface of everyday thinking. This kind of deeper thinking is called reflecting or introspection (looking within). The purpose of the following activity is to get you to reflect on the topic of Japanese American Internment Camps. http://www.web-and-flow.com/members/lhayman/japan/reflector.htm
