Foundations and Revelations • At first, the decision framework (DF) left us dazed and confused. • We quickly realized that many collaborative structures were already in place to get the work of school improvement done.
Getting Buy-in • Input gathered • Voices heard • Facilitators provided • Buildings developed a plan aligned to the DLT • Message was articulated district-wide that the OIP would be our focus

Goal Teams • 4 goals: Reading, Math, Climate and Expectations, and English as a Second Language • One member from each of the 10 schools serves on the goal team • Structure provides for vertical alignment and increased accountability. • Formal platform to share data, successes and concerns • Gaps identified and addressed
ESL Goal • Developed due to not making AMAO requirements • Overlooked subgroup • Goal team focused on three areas: data analysis, instructional needs, and home-school connection. • Surveyed staff and found that our certified teachers have limited skills to teach ELLs.

Teacher Based Teams (TBTs) • Our plan is to integrate the teams that currently exist in the schools to do the work of the BLT/DLT. • When the expectations are clear and the work is endorsed, trust building will occur.
