  1. WELCOME TO MY PRACTICE At Dr. Jeffrey A. Scolnick’s Office, we provide quality care and personalized attention in an office that feels inviting and family-friendly as soon you step in the front door. Some have even said it feels more like a living room than a lobby. That’s the way we think it should be. Dr. Jeffrey Alan Scolnick has been in private practice in Manhattan for over 25 years. A graduate of New York University College of Dentistry, Dr. Scolnick performed his general practice residency at the Brooklyn Jewish Medical Center from July 1983 to June 1984, and his prosthetic residency at Montefiore Medical Center from September 1985 to June 1989. Doctor Scolnick is a member of the Academy of Osseo Integration.

  2. What is a dental implant? An impression of your teeth will be taken and sent to a dental laboratory, where your porcelain veneers will be custom manufactured. In about one to two weeks, your veneers will be completed and ready to be attached, Dr. Scolnick will bond the veneers to your teeth, and you will leave our office with a gleaming new smile.

  6. Oral Hygiene Oral hygiene should be a part of your daily life and includes brushing your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes and flossing. In addition to your home care routine, you should schedule at least two cleanings with our office per year, which can include tooth cleaning, tooth polishing and, in some cases, debridement if excess tartar has accumulated on the teeth.

Porcelain inlays are custom manufactured to match the look and feel of your own teeth. Porcelain inlays are strong and durable. Inlays are not merely cosmetic. Once porcelain inlays are bonded they can prevent further tooth decay.

  9. Anesthetic Fillings and Bonds Local anesthetic is used to numb the area of the mouth where Dr. Scolnick will remove any decaying or unsound portions of the tooth. Once the decay is cleared away, Dr. Scolnick will fill the tooth with a composite or amalgam filling. After the filling sets, we will check to make sure your bite is comfortably aligned. Bonding, while similar to a filling, allows us to enhance the aesthetics of a tooth in shape and color. Bonding is the most economical choice in cosmetic dentistry.

  10. Partials and Full Dentures Dentures have become more durable and cosmetically appealing as cosmetic dentistry has advanced. Dr. Scolnick is committed to providing patients with partial or full dentures that use only the best materials that closely match the look of natural teeth. Unlike permanent dental prosthetics, partial and full dentures are removable frames or plates of artificial teeth. Dentures can be manufactured to resemble your natural smile and once completed can improve the look of your smile and jaw.

  11. Bridges Missing teeth can be unsightly and make you self-conscious. Bridges are one possible way to replace a missing tooth or teeth. Dr. Scolnick fixes crowns and bridges into the mouth to secure an artificial tooth or teeth into the gap. Using gold, porcelain on metal or porcelain bridges, Dr. Scolnick is able to insert bridges that are comfortable and convincing replacements for natural teeth.
