  2. Summary Samuel Collier came had lost his Mother a month ago and has turned into a thief. He is caught stealing and put in a orphanage. That is when is big adventure starts. He is invited to go to the New World to start a new life. He ha heard gold washes up on the shore with every wave. After months on a ship he finally gets to the New World. He soon realizes life is harder then he thinks. Read Blood on the River.

  3. Samuel Samuel is a very interesting character. In the beginning, he is very independent and headstrong. Once he goes on the ship, however, he realizes that he can’t be independent when there are no people to steal from. After that, he is apprenticed to Captain Smith, and he is taught to be more interdependent. By the end of the book, he is very interdependent, and he has a very good relationship with the Indians.

  4. Richard Richard at the beginning is enemies with Samuel. Richard is a good boy who always listens. Richard and Samuel become friends in the middle of the book after Samuel learns to depend on others. Richard was always a loyal friend until he has to go back to England with Captain Smith after he gets hurt.

  5. Reverend Hunt Reverend Hunt is a very holy, close to god type of man. He is always patient and considerate of others, He teaches Samuel that being independent is not the right way. Samuel learns from this lesson and becomes friends with Richard. Reverend Hunt soon dies after a bit.

  6. Captain John Smith • Captain Smith is a good captain. He is very intelligent and independent. He can be strict at times but most of the times he is very calm. Captain Smith gets stabbed by the Indians when he goes to make peace with them after some English attack them. He soon leaves to go back to England with Richard at his side

  7. Pocahontas Pocahontas is a big help in the book .She is very loving. She warns Captain Smith that her dad will attack the English. Pocahontas is fun, loving, nice, and a very good runner. Pocahontas is the most happy character in this book.

  8. Food We Brought in Wormy Oats. Wormy oats is made out of, Vanilla Pudding, Gummy worms and Oreos.
