  1. My Amazing Journey My amazing journey starts in the mouth where I get broken into smaller pieces by chomping teeth and chemicals in saliva. When swallowed, I pass through the pharynx and the epiglottis sends me down the long tube called the epiglottis. It squeezes me downward! Published by Cardone’s Creations Joseph Cardone Once the nutrients have been removed, the liquid wastes pass through the large intestine. Here, the body reabsorbs the water from the nasty liquid (or else the body would get dehydrated). Whatever is not absorbed gets eliminated from the body... I gotta go! I leave the stomach after a little while and am immediately showered with some juices. The pancreas hoses me down with a chemical to help neutralize the acid. The pancreas also adds insulin and the gall bladder adds bile to our happy mixture. Next, is the longest part of the journey- the small intestine. When the food passes through here, tiny finger-like hairs absorb the nutrients from the liquid. The nutrients enter the bloodstream. The slide comes to an end in the stomach. The walls of the stomach try to crush and grind me even smaller. And the chemicals and acid make me dissolve into a liquid called chyme.
