  7. Evamere School Day • All Day Kindergarten 9:00-3:45 • Half Day 9:00-11:35 1:10-3:45 If your child will be absent please call the office 330-653-1226 by 9:00 a.m.

A Few Math Expectations • Count to 100 by ones • Count to 100 by tens • Count forward from a given number • Write numerals 0-20 • Greater and less than comparisons • Solve addition and subtraction word problems • Compose and decompose numbers 0-20 • Identify shapes: circle, square, triangle, rectangle, hexagon and 3D shapes

  10. Science and Social Studies The kindergarten Science curriculum provides students with stimulating experiences in the life, earth, and physical sciences. In Social Studies the students learn about their community and time. They also learn about rules, goods, and services. This tapestry of curriculum is ongoing throughout the course of the year.

  16. Kindergarten Screening • May 8th, 9th and 10th 8:45 – 3:00 • The four different rooms will screen your child in the following areas: vision, hearing, speech, and early literacy skills. Your child will receive a sticker on a card for each room he or she visits (and then a fifth sticker when they come back up to the sign-in table). • If there are concerns with any of the areas that your child was screened in, you will be contacted by one of the screening teachers or the guidance counselor.

  18. KRA Kindergarten Readiness Assessment • The KRA assessment covers four areas: • Language and Literacy  • Mathematics  • SocialFoundations- including social and emotional development, and approaches toward learning • Physical Well-being and Motor Development

  21. Eating Lunch at Evamere • Evamere Lunch: $2.70 • Students choose 3-5 different items. • Lunch includes milk, grains, meat/proteins, fruit, and vegetables. • Milk or 8 oz water is available

Transportation • Transportation will send a letter home with times for pick up in early August. • Please make sure your child has the Green Bus Tag for the first two weeks of school. • Bus garage phone number for additional questions: 330-653-3355. • We hope to see all kindergarteners on Saturday, August 12th for the bus ride!

  24. Hudson Kiwanis Safety Town- Located at Evamere School, coordinated by Hudson Police Officer and School Resource Officer Jim Curtain. • June 5-9 AM or PM • June 12-16 AM • June 19-23 PM

Explorer Zone- Early Registration Discount begins May 1! • HCSD Before & After School Childcare program • Grades K-5 • 7am- start of school, After school- 6pm • Located at East Woods School • Explorer Zone staff walks students to and from their building • Breakfast available for purchase in the morning; healthy snacks provided in the afternoon. • Students play games, make crafts and have special themed activities each day of the week. • Explorer Days- Fun field trips when school is not in session! • History Museum, Bowling, Swimming, Akron Zoo. Lake Farm Park
