  3. Why Are The Proctors In Trouble? • What incidents have led Hale to be suspicious of the Proctors? • Discuss the events that reflect poorly on the Proctors? • Reflect on which events are their fault and which are not. • Do they deserve to be in as much trouble as they are currently in?

  4. Elizabeth & Abigail • Reflect on the roles (the purpose) of Abigail & Elizabeth. • Why does Arthur Miller need them? • What would the story be like without them?

  5. Sex & Sexual Repression • What role do sex and sexual repression have in the play? • Which parts of the plot depend on these concepts?
