There were many things to consider when using antifouling paint, such as the type of water where the boat was and other conditions placed by marinas. Not to mention the amount of time it could not be used while the paint was being reapplied. Luckily, times have changed and floating dry docks are the easiest way to look after your vessel. Boat lifts are also another common solution, but they can be tricky to use with larger vessels and some marinas and councils do not allow them. If your marina has these kinds of restrictions in place then using a dry dock in Brisbane and other parts of Australia can be the solution. Your boat rests at water level for easy access and added stability. The owner simply has to navigate the boat onto the dock, which will close when the boat is in the appropriate position. The water that is left inside will be pumped out automatically. There is a mesh of rope that allows air to come through. Your boat will be dry in about 25 minutes, larger vessels may take longer. The dry dock works with different drives and, depending on your requirements, you can find a solution to enter by the side, nose-in or reverse. The cost of a dry dock for boats varies depending on the size of the boat and the area where the Sea Pen is required.
