Genital Tuberculosis (GTB) and Infertility
Tuberculosis of the genital tract occurs quite commonly following tuberculosis infection anywhere else in the body. When the infection invades the reproductive system (the genital tract), it commonly targets the fallopian tubes and the uterus and may lower your chances of conception. If left undetected, it might be the major cause for your infertility problem. There is a strong relationship between genital TB and infertility and therefore genital TB would be more frequently diagnosed if this possibility is considered in the evaluation of every infertile patient in areas where tuberculosis is endemic.
