Meeting Goal/Objectives • Goal: Identify and discuss quality data sources and continue work on state-level data quality strategy to ensure that quality data is being used to inform STEM decision making at the state level. • Objective: Data Source Grid and draft Data Quality Strategy Document that would be used to guide STEM data collection. These include: • Identified sources of available quality data • Reasons for and definition of quality data • Data quality metrics (i.e. accuracy, validity, reliability, etc…) • A framework for management and accountability of quality data for the STEM level work.

Guiding Questions • Is the Colorado P-12 education system providing all students the STEM foundation they need to meet postsecondary and workforce requirements? • Are Colorado higher education institutions producing the STEM certificates, degrees and competencies needed to meet workforce demand? Are women and minorities equitably represented? • Does Colorado have a sufficient, equitable supply of quality STEM educators? • Do Colorado students have access to quality STEM experiences? • Is Colorado providing opportunities for its workforce to upgrade their skills to meet in-demand STEM skills? ? • What are successful STEM pathways for all (esp underrepresented) in Colorado • What is Colorado’s definition of STEM? ?

Colorado Team Core Goals • During the 2013-14 school year: • Create a data-driven “sense of urgency” for CO stakeholders regarding gender equity in STEM (Collaborative Impact Framework - prerequisite). • Identify a team of “champions” for gender equity in STEM (Collaborative Impact Framework - prerequisite). • Embed equity principles into prioritized STEM initiatives • Identify four community colleges to implement the SEP 2.0 program in the Spring of 2014
