How to Register for RMC Courses As soon as possible in September Obtain a registration form from me Obtain a signature from CHEE Dept Head Take the form to the Grad School for signature Take the form to RMC, Sawyer Building for signature from RMC CHEE Dept Head You will be registered in the course by the RMC Grad School Your mark will show as a transfer credit

  12. How do I get paid? First you need a Social Insurance Number (SIN) Domestic Students provide a photocopy of your card if you have never been paid at Queen’s before International Students bring your Study Permit to me and I will provide a letter for you to obtain your SIN at Service Canada

  13. How does the money get into your bank account? For TA & RA Contracts If you have never been paid by Queen’s, fill out the cheque deposit form Include a blank cheque (or authorization to deposit form from your bank) Submit to me before September 12th Awards Enter your banking information in SOLUS

CONTRACTS – RA and TA You will receive an RA contract at the beginning of each term to be paid monthly An email is sent to you with a link, go to the link, sign in with your Queen’s Net ID/password and check that the amount matches your funding spreadsheet Accept the contract electronically TA contracts are only paid in the course term and are taxable income

  15. AWARDS – QGA, NSERC, OGS… Paid once per term in Sept, Jan and May The Grad School uses the banking information you provided in SOLUS Tuition awards (GETA, ITA) go directly into your tuition account

  16. Teaching Assignment One TA assignment per year is part of your funding package We must fulfill our undergraduate program so you may receive two TA assignments (bonu$) Discuss your assignment with the instructor in the course and your supervisor, then bring any concerns to me

Safety (completion allows access) CHEM 801 (3 evening lectures; to be determined) Mandatory for all students, even if you don’t work with chemicals, part of OCGS accreditation Lab access Supervisors control access to their research labs Undergraduate labs must be cleared by Steve/Kelly WHMIS, must be at Queen’s Safety forms, signed off by Steve/Kelly

  18. Keys & Access (after Safety completed) Your FOB gets you into Dupuis Hall Computer Cluster Lab floors and undergraduate labs Keys may be required for research labs, offices Email from your supervisor for labs Megan will have office keys for you Changes to your access come from supervisor
