Project Proposal Camille Verschooris
Description of Project For my final project, I would like to redo my first montage project of the semester. My idea is plane windows. Each window represents a part of me. I love to fly and travel. The first window will contain the sunset with a plane wing to state the obvious about flying. The second window will have images of my hometown in Vancouver. It will have trees, snow, mountains, the Canadian flag on a building, other buildings, the Olympic torch, and much more. The third window will have a montage of images of places I’ve been such as Paris, New Zealand, New York, Amsterdam, and many other cities. The difference this time is I would like to change some of the project layout. I am going to move the plane piece higher up and use more pen drawing on it. I would like to remove the metro square piece from the first project and make the windows completely oval. I want to keep the fasten seat belt while seated but this time put it over another colour. I will use the arrows still to redirect and make it seem like I am going in all directions. For the third window, I also want to elaborate on it a little bit more. Add a few more places I have been too and make it a little different. I wanted to find ways to break the windows up more as well. I think the last project was too busy, so I want this one to have a few more sections. My goal this time is to really keep the image simple. Not too many shapes. I want to stick to very oval windows that fit the entire image within it. I want to also keep box shapes to balance the entire image. At the end of the day, I want this montage to portray my travels but also encourage others to want to do the same.
Andy Warhol • I really like Warhol • I like his popart work • It has inspired me because I like taking an image and playing with its colours to make it different
Graham Coreil-Allen • I think Coreil-Allen’s work is neat • I like that it’s an image with some random drawn on pop arty images on it • I like how you can combine reality and fiction in an image • I like the montage-y feel which will help me with my project
Steve Lambert • I like the simplicity of using words • I like how some of it is lit up and some not. Private Property you’re a VP. Like a VIP • This inspires me because I like to use random words in my project and this helps how to keep the simplicity
