Forgiveness and Restorative Practice with Marion Partington and Sue Dominey • For Counsellors/Therapists/Practitioners/Trainers /Supervisors / Social Workers • Aims - This workshop is suitable for individuals interested in exploring the meaning of the ‘F word’ – Forgiveness! – Clarifying what it means to each of us on a personal level, and how Forgiveness may relate to our professional work and practice. We will consider how the process of Forgiveness has a part to play in developing and facilitating Restorative Practice /Justice • Content: • The day will be a mix of experiential, informative, thought provoking, educational, awareness raising, story telling and invitation for sharing. • Develop insight into the work of The Forgiveness Project • Exploration of the idea of developing Restorative Practices • Increasing practitioner skills -‘tools to the tool-bag’ • The opportunity for a personal experience of Forgiveness • How we will work with the group – • Sue and Marion will aim to provide a safe space to give a rich experience of exploring and gaining a deeper understanding of Forgiveness, to be of benefit both personally and professionally. Twenty years later, in 1994, it came to light that Lucy had been a victim of serial-killers Frederick and Rosemary West. Marion says “My work has been about connecting with Rosemary West’s humanity and refusing to go down the far easier and more predictable path of demonizing her……. Working towards forgiveness seems to be the most imaginative way of becoming free and offering freedom” Sue Dominey is a counsellor working at Leeds Metropolitan University, she recently completed The Forgiveness Project’s Diploma in Group Facilitation, Conflict Resolution and Counselling Skills. Forgiveness and Restorative Practice TERMS AND CONDITIONS All bookings will be dependent on reaching the minimum numbers necessary to cover the costs of the event. Maximum numbers may apply. Telephone applications will be treated as provisional and the application form must still be received by the closing date. Payment by personal cheque (to be sent at time of booking) is preferred but payment by BACS or Credit Card is possible. Please ensure that the relevant information is given (above). You may confirm that the event will run and a place is secured for you on the closing date. However, joining instructions will be sent directly to you shortly after this date. Cheques for events will not be cashed until we confirm that the event will run. There will be no refunds made after the closing date but a substitute can attend. In the event of cancellation of an event by the organisers, liability will be restricted to refund of fees only.
