    4. What are emergency action plans (EAP)? It is plan for management of a specific child potential emergency in the classroom setting. See this do that - prescriptive Lay man’s language and friendly Should align with policies and procedure of the school district.

    12. Situation A 14 year old, Danielle with Von Willebrand Disease is new H.S. student competing on the girl’s swim team. The students has passed the WIAA physical exam for swimming participation. History of swimming since the age of 8. Last year, qualified for state participation in the 12-14 years of age 100 m breast stroke. Danielle is on continuous birth control with no menses in the last 3 months.

Situation Continues History of two bleeds while swimming Right knee bleed as result of fall on the pool deck Right wrist bleed as result of impact on hitting the pool wall at the end of a swimming event Mom is a single parent and works full-time at Department of Transportation and part-time at Kohl’s Department Store. Medications desamino-8-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP) daily Factor VIII as needed

    14. What does the school nurse need to do? Release of information -more info from M.D. M.D. and parent authorization for treatment Parent and student history Emergency action plan Training of coaching and teaching staff
