Facilities & Equipment Division • Mission: Provides assistance to army installation around the world. Our main focus areas are garrison facilities layout designs, dining facility equipment, army field feeding equipment. - Submits required FSE budgets for all MCA projects. - Prepare equipment schedule for dining facilities and forward to the army corps of engineers - Subject matter expert for Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, U.S Army Combined Arms Support Command, U.S. Army soldier system Center on new field feeding equipment.
Facilities & Equipment DivisionWhat We Do • Perform site assistance visits: • Food management assistance (FMAT) • Transition Assistance Team • Pre-acceptance visit for new MCA dining facilities • Review and comment on contractor submittals, contractor installed food service equipment for construction. • Interface w/industry on equipment for test/evaluation/development, serve as subject matter expert on automated equipment replacement program.
Standard Designs For Army Dining Facilities Work with the Norfolk District Corps of Engineers (NDCOE) on developing new standard designs for Army dining facilities based on the MILCON transformation and LEED certifications Standard designs are being developed using the Building Information Models (BIM) . The BIM show the dining facility in 3-D document. BIM Designs will be used as the construction document to reduce design time.
Size & Classification of Dining Facilities • 251-500 person, 240 seats, 18,000 sq ft • 501-800 person, 384 seats, 19,500 sq ft • 801-1300 person, 624 seats, 26,500 sq ft • 1300 person, 546 seats, 30,500 sq ft • 2600 person, 1092 seats, 56,000 sq ft Permanent Party BT/AIT Training
New Non-Standard DesignsFor Army Dining Facilities • New non-standard designs that will support the new BTC Barracks Complexes will be two-story structures: • Fort Leonard Wood 2600 personnel: under design • Fort Lee 3600 personnel: under construction • Fort Sam Houston 4800 personnel: under construction • Fort Jackson 5200 personnel: proposed
MCA Funds No MCA dining facility projects were funded in FY 08 Funds were programmed but not funded at the installation FY 09 funds: working with HQ IMCOM to control and keep the funds at HQ DA (G4) HQ IMCOM provide funds to the Activity for MCA projects based on ACES request
Food Service Equipment (FSE) Working with DSCP to obtain National Stock Numbers (NSN) for food service equipment to support the FEDSTRIP/MILSTRIP requisitions Working with DSCP on developing a catalog for the food service equipment Issue: DSCP is having problems with manufacturer’s providing prices that are good for one year
