Russell, Majors, and Waddle were the major stagecoach companies at the time. • Stagecoaches were pulled by strong horses. • Dangers of the stagecoach were, storms, floods, poor roads, few if any bridges, and Indian attacks all slowed them down. • Freighters made huge profits to take on the difficult and dangerous challenge of driving the stagecoach across the country.
