MEDREG is the Association of Mediterranean Energy Regulators, promoting a transparent regulatory framework and enhanced energy cooperation in the Mediterranean region. Our goals include drafting regional guidelines, disseminating good regulatory practices, building a common regulatory culture, and providing technical assistance. Whowe are MEDREG is the Association of Mediterranean Energy Regulators, born in 2007 and based in Milan @ARERA offices. It currently gathers 25 energy regulators from the following countries: Albania, Algeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Libya, Malta, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey. MEDREG promotes a transparent, stable and compatible regulatory framework in the Mediterranean region fostering market integration and infrastructure investments, as well as consumer protection and enhanced energy cooperation.
Aimingat concrete results • Drafting regional guidelines of best practices and benchmarking regulatory frameworks to assess their impact on regional and national decisions in the energy sector. • Dissemination and adoption of good regulatory practices, providing the necessary regulatory building blocks for the Mediterranean. • Building and strengthening a common regulatory culture in the region. • Provision of technical assistance to Southern regulators in the form of short missions, workshops and or trainings.

Deliverable • Prepare, present and discuss a report (max 3 pages) that represents an internal document that defines: • General description of your approach for the discussion with your counterpart; • First best solution for the next regulatory period from your point of view; • Possible second-best alternatives with an assessment of their respective pros and cons compared with first best solution.
