  2. Racecar Driving • Why? • Interest for NASCAR • Grew up around it • Prior Knowledge • Grandfather worked at STP as Richard Petty’s Public Relations manger • Works with Penzoil now

  6. Research • It’s a lot more work than just driving a car • Dealing with the “fight or flight” brain impulse • Must have mental and physical strength • Must have stamina • Cardio exercises • Arm, chest, leg, and brain exercises • Concentration is key

  9. Richard Petty: • Born July 2, 1937 in Level Cross, NC • Petty became a driver in 1958 • Won Daytona 500 and NASCAR national championship each seven times during 1964-1981 • Gained 200 victories before retiring
