CALL FOR APPLICATIONS American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant at Washington University School of Medicine Applications are being accepted for pilot project grants from the Washington University American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant. The purpose of this program is to support junior faculty in initiating cancer research projects so they can obtain preliminary results that will enable them to compete successfully for national research grants. Purpose: DEADLINE: October 15,2012 Eligibility is limited to Washington University faculty members at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level who are within 6 years of their first independent research or faculty appointment. Postdoctoral fellows and senior faculty, individuals who hold independent, national competitive research grants (e.g. NIH R01, R03, R21, NSF, ACS, VA funding) and those who have previously received this award are NOT eligible. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, non-citizen nationals or have proof of permanent residency at the time of application. Eligibility: Award: Maximum award $30,000 direct costs only for one year only All cancer-related research involving human subjects must first be reviewed and approved by the Siteman Cancer Center Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee (PRMC) and by the Washington University Human Research Protection Office (HRPO), Human studies protocols must be submitted to PRMC prior to the 10/14 application deadline...
