Foldable Fold, baby, fold!!
Landform • A natural formation of rock and dirt on the earth’s surface • Examples: Mountains, hills, valleys, plains, islands, archipelagos, volcanoes, canyons
Climate • The long-term patterns of weather in an area, including temperature and rainfall • TEMPERATURE + RAINFALL = CLIMATE
Arid Climate • Very hot and dry In a desert, you would experience an arid climate.
Tropical Climate • Very hot and very rainy
Temperate Climate • (Hot summers/cold winters, average amount of rainfall) • In Connecticut, we have a temperate climate.
Tundra Climate • Very cold and dry
Bodies of Water • Physical features that permanently contain fresh or salt water • Examples: oceans, rivers, lakes, streams
Vegetation • The plants that commonly cover the ground in a region • Examples: Forest, grassland, tundra, desert, rainforest, savanna
Natural Resources • Materials naturally found in the earth that can be used by human beings
Elevation • The measure of distance above or below sea level
